A school district in Norwalk, CT, is seeking two dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. These full-time contract positions offer an opportunity to support middle school students within a dynamic educational environment beginning ASAP through June 2026. Work Hours: 32.5-35 hours per week, full time
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the diverse needs of middle school students with disabilities
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to create an inclusive classroom setting
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with varying exceptionalities, including but not limited to autism spectrum disorders
- Monitor student progress and adjust strategies to ensure academic, social, and behavioral growth
- Communicate regularly with families and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and needs
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices
Qualifications And Experience
- Valid Special Education teaching certification or licensure
- Previous experience teaching special education students in a school setting, preferably at the middle school level
- Ability to manage a middle school caseload with diverse student needs
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
